THE TECHNOLOGY
Mine Clearing Corp.’s system
is based on four proprietary technologies:
Two Patented
Sensors
Mine Clearing Corp.
has partnered with
Roke Manor Research Ltd., a Siemens Company, because of their global leadership in
sensor technology. We intend to license two of Roke’s
proprietary sensors exclusively for landmine detection.
These sensors are at the core of
Mine Clearing Corp.’s revolutionary solution.
A
Customized Unmanned Airborne Vehicle (“UAV”)
There are a number of highly specialized UAV suppliers providing a variety of UAV’s
to various industry sector and government clients including the U.S. military. We
have identified and had discussions with potential UAV partners and will work closely
with our chosen supplier as we move forward with our technology development.
Proprietary
Scan-to-Map
GPS Software
As part of our Research &
Development Agreement Roke Manor will develop a proprietary
GPS-based Scan-to-Map software system that will take data
from the UAV scanning to create a detailed GPS map of each
landmine’s location pinpointed to within less than 50
centimeters.
A Patented Hand
Held Scanning Device
Roke has developed a state of the art hand held scanning device that is easy to use
and requires no batteries since it
generates it’s own power
from the sweeping action of the user. Battery replacement
has proven to be a problem in the
field since detectors are used over extended time periods in
remote locations. It is our intention to license the use of this device for minefield scanning.
THE PROCESS
Mine Clearing Corp.’s solution will be based on a comprehensive
six-phase process unique in the industry.
It will be systematically designed to ensure that
landmines are identified, mapped and removed in the most
efficient and cost-effective approach possible.
Phase 1: Landmine Evaluation
This phase involves 1 or 2
certified “Landmine Field Evaluators” to perform a review
and reconnaissance of the target areas using either a
fixed-wing aircraft or helicopter and an all terrain
vehicle.
An extensive survey of
existing conditions, resources and site-specific issues is
completed over a short period of time resulting in the
completion of a comprehensive evaluation report.
Phase 2: High Altitude Scan
High Altitude Scanning is a
process using proprietary sensor technology to quickly scan
and identify all target areas that may be contaminated with
landmines to determine the existence and concentration of
landmines.
This phase is invaluable in
identifying non-contaminated target areas that can
immediately be productive for housing, agricultural
development, water well drilling, irrigation, mineral
resource assessment and oil and gas resource assessment and
drilling. It will also identify “safe” areas for local
residents that have had a long history of uncertainty about
land in close proximity to their houses, playgrounds and
schools.
Phase 3: Low Altitude Scan
The phase involves the use
of the Unmanned Airborne Vehicles and
a ground crew of six locally
trained operators with three operating and three
alternating. This crew will be certified by
Mine Clearing Corp.
as
operators/mechanics.

The complete system is
modular as well as mobile and can be airlifted to the
nearest airport and then motored to the target areas. Set
up takes only 1˝ days on site for these self contained units
to be operable.
Phase 4: Landmine Mapping
Using data from Phase 3 and
proprietary Scan-to-Map
GPS software a detailed GPS map of each landmine’s
location is generated pinpointing each mine to within less
than 50 centimeters.
Phase 5:
Landmine
Removal/Destruction
This phase
involves locally staffed
crews trained and supervised by our professionals to use
proprietary handheld devices to confirm location of each
mine for removal or explosive based destruction.
This phase
will include all training, supervision and employment of a
work force of local contractors and personnel.
Phase 6:
Confirmation Scan
A final high altitude UAV scan of the cleared area is
performed to establish terrain is free of landmines.
THE RESULTS
We expect our solution will
be approximately three times faster
and 50% less expensive than existing best in class demining methods. Our
solution will also help make existing approaches faster,
cheaper and more accurate.
Further cost savings are
achievable since our system allows for the optional use of
the client country’s own equipment during the process of
removing the landmines.
With Mine Clearing Corp.’s truly
“disruptive” technology the market potential is substantial.
